I wanted to cook/bake with M yesterday, but her group didn't have a chance to check out my house yet, so I can't bring her in. I don't want to break that rule—seems a fair one and I might be mad if I had a kid in this program and somebody else broke that rule with them. (Maybe?)
Anyway, I wasn't able to get anybody to come look at the house last week and a bunch of other stuff was going on so I didn't get a chance to cut the wood we will be using to make trivets with. I figured we'd read books to each other again and go see the huge park by my house. M had a better idea. She brought her crayons and suggested we make a book. I was skeptical that it would be very fun for me, but it seemed like a really cool idea.
Well, first the walk into the park was a lot bigger than I expected. I needed the exercise and she said she loved walking too, so it was good. Then, we sat down on a bench near the water and then talked about layout and plot for each page as we went. It was so fun! We wrote a story about The Man in the Moon and how he and his purple dinosaur saved the day! We both drew throughout the book and we took turns writing each page. Then, we had just enough time for a quick lunch before I had to take her home so I could finish cooking. Her family came over last night and we had another lovely dinner together. They're such a neat family!
