Everything: Now!

(I'm quoting a mutual friend of J and me.) Here's the work-type stuff.

Lately, I have been dying to get out and do EVERYthing!

As I mentioned earlier, I'm looking for work. In the meantime, I want to build up my technical skills and my network in the biotechnical field. Enter volunteer work and an internship. I volunteer at a citizen-scientist lab that's open to the public and SUPER cool. Got to go to a Mini Maker Faire for free recently, too! Sweet!

I'm also back at the internship I did last summer. I felt like I didn't contribute much last time—most of what I did felt like waiting for code to compile, researching, flashing hardware, and getting help from J. However, the guys who supervise the project said they were interested in having me back and I wanted to go back, so there I am. They've grown and improved the project a TON! I'm so impressed with this group!

Also, they're writing a how-to guide for a project I worked on and they're listing me as a co-author!! Primarily for the work I documented in my "Android Hacking" posts from this blog. I'm SO glad J helped me as much as he did (he put in a lot of hours) and I'm so glad he suggested I write it out to make it easier for the next folks and myself! I used my own how-to guide SO many times on that project! haha Also, today, I had somebody tell me that this group's whole department has a dire need for software folks. How encouraging! I have been needing an "excuse" to get better at my software skills. :D

And now, to keep this from getting too much longer, I'll tell you more about what I'm up to in the two next posts. (Three real paragraphs?? Holy crap!)

:D Glad you don't mind it! You know, every time we interact I think we must have a LOT in common. It's really too bad we don't get to see each other more often!
