Our trusty sedan broke a little. Hard to complain given its age, mileage, and the fact that in the last six years we've had two not-big problems with it. I have always wanted to know how to work on cars and I always thought it'd be cool to have a husband who worked on cars too. Boy, did I luck out—I got both! My husband knows how to work on cars and he's helping me learn it!
Today, we did a lot of different things to the car. First, we replaced the cracked radiator. Easy enough job, but VERY messy. Then, we changed the transmission fluid. Then, we took the chipping paint off the bumper. Then, we replaced the housing for our headlights. Then, replaced the lug-nuts! We have spent about a third of the money on parts as we would have spent to have someone else do today's work and we still have two or three jobs to use the remaining parts! It's not just the saved money, though. We get time working on a project together, we improve our skills and we know we can trust the work that was done on the car. :D
