Happy Independence Day!

My old hometown gets together in the park for a huge party every 4th of July. It's a town of 100,000 or so and literally most of the people I know meet at this park. Dancing, drinking, fair food, etc. and then we all settle down and watch an amazing fireworks display. Sometimes, I really miss it.

My favorite 4th of July, though, was probably the summer I lived in London. We hung a HUGE American flag from our balcony, cooked cheeseburgers and just generally acted like "happy-to-be-free-of-you-dorks! :P"

(I may or may not have sung the words for "My Country Tis of Thee" quietly to my then-boyfriend a few days before at a sporting event to the tune of "God Save the Queen." I kind of enjoy being a brat sometimes. . . )

Anyway, happy fourth of July, everyone! Happy birthday to my motherland.
